Childrens Dentistry (Pedodontics)

Children start losing teeth at about age 6 years till age 12 years. Once cavities start, they only get bigger and cause infection of teeth, gums and even jaw bones.[1] Children are a precious gift. An early start in regular dental care is an important step on the road to total health.[2] Children should cease thumb sucking by the time their permanent front teeth are ready to erupt. Usually, children stop between the ages of two and four.[3]

Parents are welcome to accompany their children into the Dental Operatory on the first visit. After the first visit and if your child is over the age of 3, we recommend that you allow them to accompany our staff through the dental experience.[4] Parents are always welcome. We partner with you to decide what treatment is best for your child.[5]

Treatment concerns deal with jaw malrelationships and dental realignment problems. This is an excellent stage to start treatment, when indicated, as your child’s hard and soft tissues are usually very responsive to orthodontic or orthopedic forces.[7] Treatment of diseased or injured teeth with dental restoration (filling or caps). Replacement of missing teeth with dental prosthesis.[8]
